Earlier this year, we announced that Sector Seven Contemporary Art Gallery would be presenting artwork at Rosebud Coffee in Pasadena. Today, we are pleased to share that the first-ever art exhibition by S7CAG at Rosebud Coffee is now on display! To kick off the exhibitions, we are showcasing a curated collection of artwork by Patrick Haemmerlein.
This project has been in development for some time, with a few minor logistical hurdles to overcome. It has been a great pleasure working with the team at Rosebud Coffee, who have been nothing but supportive throughout the entire process.
Rosebud Coffee has graciously made some upgrades to the facility, allowing the art exhibition space to come to life. The walls were freshly painted, an art hanging system was installed, and in the coming months, new lighting will be added to give the space the quality of illumination typically found in art galleries and museums. Not only do Rosebud Coffee’s guests get to experience these art exhibitions, but Wild Parrot Brewing Company’s patrons also have the opportunity to enjoy the art.
The exhibition space at Rosebud Coffee is an expansion for S7CAG, allowing us to exhibit a multitude of local emerging and established artists within a well-known and respected community hub. S7CAG facilitates the art exhibitions, including curating artists and their collections of artwork, collaborating with artists throughout the development of the exhibition, and overseeing the installation of the art.
By exhibiting artwork at Rosebud Coffee, we can now showcase artists from Santa Monica to East Pasadena. Additional spaces where artwork is exhibited include Jones Coffee Roasters in South Pasadena, The Crush Pad in Pasadena, and Demitasse in Santa Monica, with plans to expand into different third-space types and locations throughout California. These community hubs not only allow for public art exhibitions but also serve as a way for local artists and art patrons within their respective areas to interact with S7CAG.
Patrick Haemmerlein is one of the first artists ever exhibited by S7CAG, so it was only fitting to present his artwork first at Rosebud Coffee, pioneering new terrain for future artists. Those who view his artwork are immersed in a layered urban paradigm of reality versus fantasy. Haemmerlein creates a visual soundtrack as a backdrop to his stark silhouettes, choreographing torn pages of poetry and bars of music from the 1800s and early 1900s. Splashes of color punctuate the delicate balance between urban cityscapes and rural wildlife and natural scenes within Los Angeles and surrounding counties, exploring the coexistence of urban environments with natural foliage and wildlife through the beauty of contradiction. For example, the Urban Coyote, photographed in East Hollywood, is now integrated into Patrick's developed cityscapes, punctuating the actual urban existence of these native animals within Los Angeles.
The current collection of artwork by Patrick Haemmerlein showcased at Rosebud Coffee, along with the full collection of available artwork, can be viewed in his online gallery with S7CAG by clicking here.
