Collection: Ron Braverman
Ron Braverman is a Los Angeles-based, multidisciplinary artist creating works that build from his daily interactions with art, architecture, maps and geometry.
Ron is strongly influenced by Modern artists like Paul Klee, Agnes Martin, Hilma af Klint and Richard Diebenkorn. His art practice is also inspired by an appreciation of Buddhism and its philosophical principles of being present and mindful.
When painting he purposefully leaves pencil markings or paint to show the underlying layer. Ron describes his creative process, “Like an archeological excavation, there are layers of what came before for the viewer to visually experience. Ron says, “During this artistic process, the painting is alive and it is like a wave crashing in slow motion." He feels the finished piece is a reminder of the transient visit of the creative spirit."
After studying Fine Art at University of Hartford’s Art School he continued to hone his skills at schools including: Pratt, Art Center College of Design, School of Visual Arts and the New York Studio School. Ron’s work has been featured in print and online magazines including, Popster, Bikini and Raygun. His works have been shown in dozens of galleries including Bergamot Station (Los Angeles), MTV Headquarters (New York) and AG Gallery in (Brooklyn, NY.) Works have been collected by institutions including SEI Investments Co, Mixed Greens and the Berz Collection among others. Ron’s work is also currently on view at the George Duras Gallery on the Normandy Coast, France.
It is Ron's hope that his works enhance people’s lives and the space in which they live.
