About the Group Art Show

This art exhibition includes a never-before-seen collection by South Pasadena artist Stephen Dudro, presenting a series of impressionistic-style paintings of well-known local scenes permeating the cityscape. His artwork, created with oil on canvas, showcases a modern take on impressionism, employing a minimalistic approach to depiction while preserving the essence and atmosphere of each scene.

In addition, abstract artwork by Nikita Byzoff, originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, is being presented publicly for the first time in the United States during this exhibition. Byzoff’s collection—a series of three abstract pieces—represents his unique style, developed over 24 years as a painter, illustrator, and architect after graduating from the Kyiv Polygraphic Institute in 2001. Through his paintings, Byzoff invites the viewer into an internal dialogue, a form of meditation that explores questions about the present while anticipating the future.

During this group art exhibition, S7CAG, in conjunction with the Academy of Special Dreams, is proud to present artworks by artists Federico and Christian Tresierras. This showcase of the Tresierras brothers' artwork highlights the value and importance of inclusivity for artists with disabilities. Federico and Christian Tresierras, California natives, have previously exhibited their work at prestigious venues such as the Bridge Gallery at Los Angeles City Hall and the City of Alhambra City Hall Gallery. They were recently awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the City of Los Angeles for their contributions to fostering inclusivity in the arts for artists with disabilities.

For more information about Federico and Christian Tresierras and the Academy of Special Dreams, we invite you to read our article, Celebrating Inclusivity: The Power of Art in the Disability Community, available in the News section.

New artwork by local favorite and well known artist, Patrick Haemmerlein is also on exhibition. Haemmerlein’s artwork, is initially brought forth through his photography by capturing images of his exploration of both urban and rural landscapes. He then manipulates and prints the images, layering them on wood to create unique works that explore the theme of nature versus industry—and how the two coexist or clash.

We also present artwork by Hirotaka Suzuki, a California-based artist originally from Japan. Hirotaka creates his artwork organically, processing issues into surreal expressions using imagery drawn from both contemporary and historical cultural events. Since 2000, Suzuki has exhibited his work in numerous galleries both locally and nationally, including the Hive Gallery, Huntington Beach Art Center, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, and TAG Gallery.
