Collection: Robert Miller

Robert Miller is a Pasadena-based artist who began painting at the age of eighty-two, following a lifetime devoted to leadership, music, and art collecting. Surrounded by creativity since childhood—his mother was an oil painter—Miller spent decades visiting museums around the world, serving in the U.S. Army, and pursuing careers in banking, advertising, and entrepreneurship. A co-founder of the California Philharmonic Orchestra (CalPhil), his love of classical music deeply influences his vibrant and expressive acrylic paintings.

Inspired by artists such as Picasso and Van Gogh, Miller’s work blends bold color, Cubist abstraction, and emotional spontaneity. “My art is bold and colorful and booming,” he says. His practice began in late 2024 and quickly flourished, producing hundreds of works in his Pasadena studio. Recently has been invited to exhibit his artwork at El Portal and Jones Coffee Roasters, his paintings invite viewers to interpret each scene through their own lens—sunrise or sunset, dream or reflection.

Miller’s journey celebrates creativity as renewal, proving it’s never too late to begin again.
